PNP Spring Series – Race 2

Covid Level 2 Impact

At level 2, gatherings are limited to 100 people.  To enable us to proceed this event will be split into two events. A: Youth + Social (Sign-In early at the school) and B:Open + Masters (later sign-in at the school).  There will be separate registrations this time around.

 

The course descriptions are yet to be updated, with the long loop made much shorter (up to Brother 2 > Starfish).  Please read the amended timetable and instructions carefully. 

 

There are to be NO SPECTATORS allowed in the park for senior riders. Riders in the U11 to U15 grades are allowed one accompanying adult.  Please organise to drop off and collect any other riders, if required.  

There will be no prizegiving afterwards.  Please vacate the park as soon as racing is completed.  Results will be available online.

There will be no small kids race at the base park.

 

Thr 17 Sept: Online entries close.  You must enter online.  There are NO LATE ENTRIES.

R1A: Youth & Social

8:00 – 8:40am: Mandatory Sign-In at Karori West Primary School

9:00am Race briefing at Start Line

9:15am Races starts in waves.

11:00am Park cleared for next event.

R1B: Open & Masters

10:00 – 10:50am: Mandatory Sign-In at Karori West Primary School

Please stay at the school until the MTB park is cleared.

11:15am Race briefing at Start Line 

11:30am Races starts in waves.

1:30pm Park cleared.

Ride notes

Courses will be made up of loops, short loops, long loops or a combination of both. The lap configuration will depend on your category. We run a sport course catering to those who want to give the event a try or hang with their mates and be social. The age grades are for those who want to ride with or against riders of their own age. Open Men and Open women are open to anyone, but the Open Men also incorporates the seniors, so it can be highly competitive.

Please see your age group/category below to determine your course and the number of short and/or long loops you will be doing.

NOTE:  Mandatory Sign-In will be at Karori West school, with riders riding together to the start line at the end of Koru. 

 

Long Loop description (Shortened with L2 Covid-19)

Start on the Tower 19 (T19) Connector 4WD by the end of Koru.

Ride up the T19 4WD (120m)

Turn left into SNAKE CHARMER 4WD by the container.
(Note: this is where the SHORT loop splits off)

Ride up Snake Charmer 4WD (400m)

Keep right at the next intersection, heading towards the summit.

Turn right into THE THREE BROTHERS - PART 2 (530m).
Cross the 4WD then take the right-hand option to ride STARFISH (500m)
Cross the 4WD and continue on STARFISH to the bottom of the hill (1.2km).
(Watch for Short Loop riders merging from the end of Lazy Fern)
Ride through the CARPARK then ride all of KORU (2.4 km)
(Note: The carpark will closed/taped off, but please show caution)
At the end of Koru, do a hairpin right-turn into MAGIC CARPET (650m)
Take a left turn onto the T19 Connector 4WD.  

Ride 470m past the Start line, to the FINISH at the Container

(by the intersection with Snake Charmer 4WD).
After finishing, please clear MTB park as soon as possible.
