Ride notes

Courses will be made up of loops, short loops, long loops or a combination of both. Please see your age group to determine your course and the number of short and/or long loops you will be doing.

NOTE: We are not racing in grades (A, B, C, D1, D2...) again this year. We are racing in age groups. Each age group will be assigned a course, and that's your course to ride on the day.

 

Short Loop description

Start at Waiu Hub down by the car park and head into WETLANDS LOOP on the western

side (clockwise direction)

Turn left into DIRECTA, heading uphill

Taking the shortcut, turn left onto BEELINE EXTENSION, heading downhill 

(easy options will be available)

At the end of Beeline Extension, turn sharp right into JUNGLE SCOUT

Stay right on JUNGLE GYM and head uphill

Keep left through the 5-way intersection and continue uphill

At the top of Jungle Gym, turn right into LABYRINTH

(Note: this is where the LONG loop splits off)

Turn right into SNAIL TRAIL and continue down to the end

(Note: the LONG loop rejoin half way down)

At the end of Snail Trail turn sharp left into WETLAND LOOP (clockwise direction)

Turn left (uphill) into 2ND STAR

At the top, continue straight into NGA TUNA (downhill)

At the bottom turn sharp left into WETLAND LOOP again

Continue out onto the park base, passed the carpark to complete the lap.

Long Loop description

Start at Waiu Hub down by the car park and head into WETLANDS LOOP on the western

side (clockwise direction)

Turn left into DIRECTA, heading uphill

Taking the shortcut, turn left onto BEELINE EXTENSION, heading downhill 

(easy options will be available)

At the end of Beeline Extension, turn sharp right into JUNGLE SCOUT

Stay right on JUNGLE GYM and head uphill

Keep left through the 5-way intersection and continue uphill to bridge area

(Note: at the top, this is where the SHORT loop splits off)

At the top of Jungle Gym, turn left and cross the BRIDGE, keeping left, into SUPER PLUS

About 2/3 down, at the water tank, turn right onto the CYCLE TRAIL and head uphill,

back to the Bridge

Cross the bridge, keeping left, then enter the bottom end of FREEWHEEL in reverse direction

Exit Freewheel to the right after 150m or so, then turn left onto the ECNZ PYLON TRACK and

continue uphill

Turn right into LABYRINTH and continue uphill to SPOONHILL HUB

Turn right, continuing on LABYRINTH RETURN, downhill, until you join onto SNAIL TRAIL

(Note: the SHORT loop rejoins at this point)

Continue down, and at the end of Snail Trail turn sharp left into WETLAND LOOP

(clockwise direction)

Turn left (uphill) into 2ND STAR

At the top, continue straight into NGA TUNA (downhill)

At the bottom turn sharp left into WETLAND LOOP again

Continue out onto the park base, passed the carpark to complete the lap.

Child (open to beginners 3-9 years) For our youngest riders, their course will be a loop or series of loops of the base area including Red Track. The course will be marked out in the morning prior to racing and the number of loops will be customised on the day to suit those participating.

Series entry and discounts

We encourage riders to enter the series, rather than entering race by race, or leaving it to enter on the day. This will make our morning's on race-day quicker and less stressful for everyone. It also means that you will get your race plate on Race 1, and get to keep it throughout the series. To sweeten the deal, all those who enter the series receive a 20% discount.

Individual race entry fees

PNP member adult riders – $25 per/race (using code: PNP)

PNP U19 riders – $20 per/race (using code: PNP U19)

Non-PNP member adult riders – $35 per/race

Non-PNP U19 riders – $25 per/race (using code: U19)

Discount codes

PNP – for all PNP Members (19 Yrs+) enter "PNP" for $10 off per race (=$25)
PNP U19 – for all U19 PNP Members enter "PNP U19" for $15 off per race (=$20)
Non PNP Members U19 – for all U19 Non-PNP Members enter "U19" for $10 off per race (=$25)

Series codes to be used if entering all 5 races (receive 20% off)
PNP Series – for all PNP Members (19 Yrs+) enter "PNP Series"

PNP U19 Series – for all U19 PNP Members enter "PNP U19 Series"

Series – for all Non Members who want to race the series, enter "Series
U19 Series – for all U19 Non-PNP Members enter "U19 Series"

Late entry

A late entry fee will be in place this year for all entries received after 9 pm on Saturday 21 September. So if you register online after this time, or enter on the day the base entry fee will be $45 per person.
