PNP Summer Fun Ride Series

Race 2 of the third edition of the PAK'n'SAVE PNP Summer Fun Ride Series.  Here's what you need to know:

Time/Date | Race 2 is held on Saturday 1 February 2020.  Please be registered no later than 9.45am to enable racing to start from 10am. 

  • Long Course start is 10am, start-line briefing at 9.55am.

  • Short course start is 10.15am, start-line briefing 10.10am.

Registration | ANZAC Hall, 62 Bell Street, Featherston

​

Courses | There are two courses to choose from.  For Race 1/Ngawi Classic the short course is 60km and the long course is 120km.  Course descriptions and Strava maps are below.  

​

Starting Waves | Two starting waves will be available for each of the short and long courses.  The first wave is for more experienced and faster riders.  Wave 2 is for newer riders who would like a challenge and be able to gain experience from riding in a bunch. 

 

Team Entry | A 'free' team competition is available with points awarded across all age ranges, gender and courses. 

 

Entry | Online entry (inc fee confirmation) will open in November.  PNP members receive an entry discount.

Course Description

Riders will proceed to Jellicoe Street where the event will start once you are out of the built up area of Martinborough. The course takes you straight along Lake Ferry Road and through Pirinoa.

At approximately 28km you will turn left on to Cape Palliser Road, the turnaround will be just 2km or so up the road. Complete your turnaround at the cone and ride back to the way you came. Turning right on to Lake Ferry Road, after approximately 32km. Then it is just the return journey through Pirinoa again and back to Jellicoe St where you will finish where you started.

Then make your way back to Village Café for refreshments and prizegiving.

Long course

Course Description

Riders will proceed to Jellicoe Street where the event will start once you are out of the built up area of Martinborough. The course takes you straight along Lake Ferry Road and through Pirinoa.

At approximately 30km you will turn left on to Cape Palliser Road and continue on past the Putangirua Pinnacles, and on to the turnaround point at approximately 60km just out of the seaside township of Ngawi.

Ride back to the way you came, turning right on to Lake Ferry Road, after approximately 90km. Then it is just the return journey through Pirinoa again and back to Jellicoe St where you will finish where you started.

Then make your way back to Village Café for refreshments and prizegiving.
