Since 1962, PNP has been holding the BP Series..an exciting early season handicap series with something for everyone. The four race series is traditionally held over very achievable 25-45km courses. The handicap format works by having four to six graded starting groups each with set time gaps, with the slower groups starting first and the fastest group last. The objective is for each group to work together to stay away from the groups behind them.. and chase down everybody in front of them!

With the handicap format everyone has a great chance of wining...the key being to get your start group to work well together so you have the fastest net time, and earn points each week.
Over the past few years winners of the BP Mens Cup have included Darren Gordon, Laurie Missile Farrington, Ian Kirkman, and Vicky Robertson and Melissa Pilla for the Womens Cup.

The BP Series will again kick off the coming season, the perfect start for legs that dont have the endurance fitness that traditionally comes later in the season.

The courses will be based in Wellington and the Hutt Valley..check out the calendar page for race dates and locations.

Handicap Groups
Heres a guide to help inform the Handicapper...
1^st Group - Limit - New Rider to Racing, likely to have done some fun rides in the past
2nd Group - Break 4 - Some race experience, use to riding in a bunch, guide Taupo Time 5hrs +
3rd Group - Break 3 - Couple of years racing, confident in race bunch, guide Taupo Time under 5hrs
4th Group - Break 2 - Experienced A/B Grade Rider, Taupo Time under 4hr 45m
5th Group - Break - Experienced A/B Grade Rider, Taupo Time under 4hr 30m
6th Group - Scratch - Experienced A Grade Rider, Taupo Time under 4hr 15m

1st -25p   2nd-22p   3rd-20p   4th-18p   5th-16p   6th-15p  down to 20th-1p
