Fast, fun and safe – that’s track racing in a nutshell. We organise racing and training at the most excellent Wellington Velodrome in Hataitai Park for the capital's cycling community. Our junior programme is great, we have sessions for all abilities, and we welcome any rookies.

Wellington Cup, Sprint Ace and weekly racing

​

We race most Sundays throughout summer with a programme of events suitable for all ages and abilities. The primary events are the Wellington Cups and Sprint Ace series which are held monthly during the season. Getting started on the track

​

There are plenty of opportunities for using the velodrome and making the most of our great coaches, whether you are a rookie or experienced rider.

 

We put on plenty of free open days for anyone wanting to have a go, and have a stack of track bikes to borrow or rent.

Joining the club and paying track fees

We strongly encourage you to take out a PNP Cycling Club membership, which would give you cheaper access to racing and training and support our efforts in running track cycling in Wellington. 

Please note that you don't HAVE to be a PNP Cycling Club member to ride and race at the Wellington Velodrome!

For all track cyclists, PNP members or not, use this form for all track specific fees: race passes, training contribution, coaching, etc.

Selection Policy for Track Nationals

The PNP Track Committee endeavours to support a team of riders and helpers to represent Wellington at the Age Group National Championship each year.

If you wish to be selected for the team, please read the selection policy. Or if you have any questions or would like to make a submission, please contact the Track Committee by emailing track@pnp.org.nz.
