Ride notes
NEW: We are starting any Junior riders doing the Short Loop only half an hour earlier, starting at 9:30am. This should reduce the conflict between these riders and the fast long-loopers riding down Tumeke at the same time.
Courses will be made up of long loops and/or short loops. The lap configuration will depend on your category. We run a sport course catering to those who want to give the event a try or hang with their mates and be social. The age grades are for those who want to ride with or against riders of their own age. Open Men and Open women are open to anyone, but the Open Men also incorporates the seniors, so it can be highly competitive.
Please see your age group/category below to determine your course and the number of short and/or long loops you will be doing.

Short Loop description
Start up FARM ROAD (4WD)
Turn right into LOOP ROAD (4WD)
Ride down BLASTER, then turn RIGHT at the end
(Note: LONG loop splits off at this part of the course)
Turn right then ride through the Event Village
U11 Shortcut: The U11s get to skip the start of the loop up to here and start straight
into SPICER LINK once the other Junior riders have passed through the Event Village.
Turn right into SPICER LINK and ride the complete trail (2.8k)
Caution: KEEP LEFT after the Event Village because riders will be coming out of Tumeke
The last part of CRASH PALACE (dropping off to the left toward the end of Spicer Link)
is a Grade 5 shortcut option. This will be open if dry, but closed if wet and dangerous.
Note: This is a Grade 5 track. The easy option is to ride to the end of Spicer Link track.
At the end of either option, turn right into the BOTANIC GARDENS park
Cross the small stream and turn right into THE DOCTOR
Ride THE DOCTOR (1.4k) up to BOUNDARY ROAD 4WD on the ridge
(Note: LONG loop joins up at the bottom of the main uphill section)
