PNP Summer Fun Ride Series

Race 4 of the third edition of the PAK'n'SAVE PNP Summer Fun Ride Series.  Here's what you need to know:

​

Time/Date | Race4  is held on Sunday 28th March.  Please be registered no later than 9.45am to enable racing to start from 10am. 

  • Long Course start is 10am, start-line briefing at 9.55am.

  • Short course start is 10.15am, start-line briefing 10.10am. 

​

Registration | Side courtyard, Village Cafe, 6 Kitchener Street, Martinborough.

Chris and Bruce of the Village Cafe have been very supportive of our event/series.  Please support them and respect the parking restrictions (see below).

Courses | There are two courses to choose from.  For Race 4/Ngawi Classic the short course is 60km and the long course is 120km.  Course descriptions and Strava maps are below.  

​

Parking | Please park on the side roads away from the shops.  This keeps the carparks close to key businesses free for drop-in clients.   If you are unsure where to park, please refer to the parking map. 

 

Entry | Online entry is available now.  Enter online before Friday 26th March and it is only $40.  Enter on the day and it is $55 cash (inc $15 late fee)​

Course Description

Riders will proceed to Jellicoe Street where the event will start once you are out of the built up area of Martinborough. The course takes you straight along Lake Ferry Road and through Pirinoa.

At approximately 28km you will turn left on to Cape Palliser Road, the turnaround will be just 2km or so up the road. Complete your turnaround at the cone and ride back to the way you came. Turning right on to Lake Ferry Road, after approximately 32km. Then it is just the return journey through Pirinoa again and back to Jellicoe St where you will finish where you started.

Then make your way back to Village Café for refreshments and prizegiving.

Long course

Course Description

Riders will proceed to Jellicoe Street where the event will start once you are out of the built up area of Martinborough. The course takes you straight along Lake Ferry Road and through Pirinoa.

At approximately 30km you will turn left on to Cape Palliser Road and continue on past the Putangirua Pinnacles, and on to the turnaround point at approximately 60km just out of the seaside township of Ngawi.

Ride back to the way you came, turning right on to Lake Ferry Road, after approximately 90km. Then it is just the return journey through Pirinoa again and back to Jellicoe St where you will finish where you started.

Then make your way back to Village Café for refreshments and prizegiving.
