Race 2 of the third edition of the PAK'n'SAVE PNP Summer Fun Ride Series. Here's what you need to know:
Time/Date | Race 2 is held on Saturday 1 February 2020. Please be registered no later than 9.45am to enable racing to start from 10am.
Long Course start is 10am, start-line briefing at 9.55am.
Short course start is 10.15am, start-line briefing 10.10am.
Registration | ANZAC Hall, 62 Bell Street, Featherston
Courses | There are two courses to choose from. For Race 2/Ocean Beach the short course is 60km and the long course is 85km. Course descriptions and Strava maps are below.
Starting Waves | Two starting waves will be available for each of the short and long courses. The first wave is for more experienced and faster riders. Wave 2 is for newer riders who would like a challenge and be able to gain experience from riding in a bunch.
Team Entry | A 'free' team competition is available with points awarded across all age ranges, gender and courses.
Entry | Online entry is open. PNP members receive an entry discount.
Riders will make their way from Anzac Hall to the Western Lake Rd. The event will start once out of the built up area near Cundys Rd. The course follows Western Lake Road for approximately 27km, where you will turn left onto the East West Access Rd. You will continue on East West Access Rd until at approximately 61km riders take a left turn onto Kahutara Rd. Then follow Kahutara Rd until the finish approximately 500mtrs before Kahutara Rd joins SH53.
Riders will make their way from Anzac Hall to the Western Lake Rd. The event will start once out of the built up area near Cundys Rd. The course follows Western Lake Road past the East West Access Rd at approximately 27km, and continues on to Wharekauhau Rd where a turnaround will be at the top of a rise after approximately 38km.
Riders retrace their route onto Western Access Rd until about 49km when they will take the right turn on to East West Access Rd. At approximately 61km riders take a left turn onto Kahutara Rd which they will follow until the finish approximately 500mtrs before Kahutara Rd joins SH53.
