Track Results Tuesday 13/01/10
What a difference a balmy summer night makes, we had a brilliant turn out tonight. We started the night by congratulating Alex, Cheryl, Ethan and Josiah on their newborn addition to the Laplanche family – Sienna. Ethan reports there is not much to report - Sienna is doing little more than sleeping/feeding and looking!
Goodness where to start. Well in Cat 3 Beth had a spanky new EMC track bike and Laura had a classy looking red and white Jamis – both very nice and both put their bikes to work with some great racing. Alex Dent was looking very smooth and Hayden Dempsey had a surprise win in the scratch. In Cat 2 Nick Post looks ripe for elevation to Cat 1. Gabby Peach made her Cat 2 debut and looked very comfortable. Connor Johnson had a stormer of an elimination race, managing to take the scalp of Geoff Hayr and make it to the final four.
In Cat 1 Lee was on the sidelines resting tonight and Alex had to leave early after winning the shorter races. Mark Coburn took full advantage of this in the handicap scratch and rode very strongly, bridging a decent gap and sweeping past the field. Two riders to watch in this category are Ricky Pincott, who has some great leg speed, and newcomer Daniel Coombes who had his track racing debut tonight. Daniel is very fit and strong and once he has his track racing smarts he’ll be away.
Great to see all the Bell boys out tonight.
