Silas Cullen is the founder of “Smart Coaching Limited” the smart coaching system designed to enable athletes to train smart and improve performance with whatever time they have available to train. Silas is an active member of the PNP cycling club and looking to coach local cyclists to reach their goals.  After graduating in 2000 from a Bachelors degree in sport science Silas worked as a full time cycling and multi discipline coach in Auckland for 3 years and then spent a further 2 years coaching in Europe.
Silas represented New Zealand at the Triathlon World Championships in 1998 and then switched to cycling in 2000 competing well in numerous national championships and tours around New Zealand including a 19th overall in the 2007 Tour of Southland.
Silas’ coaching philosophy is science based and has been proven time and time again with good results in the field. With Smart Coaching and hence smart training there is no limit to performance. The harder you think the faster you go!  Silas performs comprehensive bike fits incorporating flexibility and strength testing as well as all coaching related services.  Silas coaching articles are listed below.

Testing - Brendan at BodyLab provides an excellent performance testing service where you can have your power output measured to see if your training is being effective.  Both aerobic (VO2max) and anaerobic (Wingate) testing can be done.
