On a very wet afternoon, that only got wetter as it went on, there was a great turn out of 39 racers across the grades. A special welcome to all the new riders who came out on such a wet day, and the MTB’s who are trying out road for the first time.
The U19 boys raced on their own as a few new riders turned up to boost the numbers, The sprints were contested, with Matt Webb-Smith riding away after the third sprint and staying away to finish in front f the rest. More new faces in the U17 brought some new competition to the race with each sprint hotly contested.
U13 girls field has grown by one, welcome to Sarah in her first race on a road bike. A couple new riders joined the series and it was great to see the different groups working together. U15 boys again had a quick race with new comer Eden Cruise probably finding his MTB bike handling skills useful on such a wet day.
