Keeping track of time: track racing judging workshop

3-5PM – AUGUST 11, 2012 – SPORT WELLINGTON, 113 ADELAIDE ROAD

Why does the Devil-take-the-Hindmost, who slings who in a Madison and what’s a Keirin?

Track racing is fun, exciting, fast and safe but not always easy to understand, which is why we’re holding a workshop on August 11, 2012 at Sport Wellington for potential helpers of junior and senior track racers and anyone else interested.

We’ll explain the different types of races, what the riders are doing and how to judge and time keep them. We’ll have videos of races to practice on, and it’s all FREE!

We have a great programme of racing at Hataitai Velodrome planned or the 2012/13 season and will need you to help make it happen. Track cycling for many is the starting point for our fantastic sport for many, regardless of what disciplines they end up concentrating on.

This workshop is THE place to begin getting to know cycling as a sport. Please send an RSVP to Peter Moore at track@pnp.org.nz by July 31, or contact Peter for more information.
